1st “Feel the Taste of Your Native Language” Arts Festival
A one-day festival of bands singing in ethnic languages — the finale of the “Ecology of Communication” celebration.
In the courtyard of the Ivan Honchar Museum the ethno-rock band Vohnesmikh, folk-rock Voanerhes, the folk band Run with Irish and Scottish songs and the band Dvija with songs in Sanskrit performed; the guest of honour Jean-Marc Leclercq sang in many languages.
The high standard was set by the partner of the Caravan’s Production Agency — Etno Sound and its head, the sopilka player Oles Zhuravchak. Conceived as a trial, the festival became annual: in 2008 and 2009 it was the verbal focus of the Language Festival.
