The first flashmob parade “Peace as the Goal. Culture as the Means. Force for Peace”
For the International Day of Peace — themed flashmobs and artmobs one after another along Khreshchatyk, a peace lesson on the Maidan and a “sweet salute” for children.
The National Committee of the Interkultura Caravan presented the concept “Innovative solutions to acute issues through culture”: flashmobs started and ended at the sound of a gong, and a “guide” led journalists from one to the next. Among the artmobs was “Should Knights Come Back to Life?” at the Main Post Office entrance: warriors of different eras in armour fighting in slow motion.
The archive keeps the announcement, programme and poster. A bagnet.org report from the same day confirms that the parade took place.
The organization later described the first parade like this: thirty flashmobs, fifteen on each side of Khreshchatyk, seventeen cameras, and closing flashmobs for children in which sweets were showered from home-made “mortars”. After that the format became the Caravan’s regular street format.
